I'm starting to notice a pattern where the word " intense" is being used a lot more often. Is this the new normal or I'm I missing something?
Depends on who you ask. In my opinion, Intense, wedge, prolific, giant (just to name a few) get thrown around a lot more. In a way, it gets people's attention, but also, it gets overused a lot. Like it becomes similar to the "those sirens go off every time and nothing happens" mentality.

Lol I posted this other day…

It's a catch-all for EF3+ tornadoes. Probably being seen more often these days because "violent" implies EF4+ and in practice those ratings are assigned so rarely (the reasons for which have been debated ad nauseam in practically every tornado thread on this forum).
