Severe Weather 2024

On-air met at my work relaying reports of substantial damage in the Edgerton area, although no specifics as of yet.

Based on the debris ball track in GRLevel3, the Edgerton Travel Plaza probably got smacked

Should be storm chasers galore near by. Should start seeing images flood in. Hope nobody is hurt.

Still can't believe scans showed debris lifted 20k feet in the air.

DOT camera at that junction is still streaming, so it's still intact and has power. Crazy lightning on it now. I-39/90 at US 51/WIS-73.

This was a weird one for me. Went not too far to my south (I loaded the cats in their carriers just in case), but I actually saw the hook on radar before the first warning was issued.

There's another video on X/Twitter from the traffic cam near the interchange when the storm went through, and thankfully it didn't seem too bad even though there looked to be a fair bit of traffic.

Hoping that the damage is limited, but that debris signature is worrying.

Glad you're OK! I had kinda wondered what part of the county you were in.

Can you link that video?

I live close to my spouse's employer, one of the bigger ones in the area. He's been there for over a decade, which makes him super old by the standard of most of their employees. That likely tells you where we are. ;)

I should add that I was north of the warning polygon but it was close enough that my anxiety kicked in for getting pets ready, heh.

Here's the traffic cam video:

00Z NAM really holds onto instability and favorable wind fields, even with preceding convection for Monday. Definitely bears watching. Sounding from East-Central AL.
