SPC has introduced 15% contours, most notably over the western halves of Kansas and Nebraska on D4 as well as over much of Iowa on D5.

Got a slight risk up and down the high plains today, with 5% tornado risk in WY/NE/CO. Reed says strong tornadoes are possible.






Also, currently a slight risk from MN/SD down to MO/KS on Saturday.

SPC pulling the trigger on a double barrel ENH risk today, and tornado probabilities upped to 5% in the eastern TX Panhandle.

Looking likely I'll be out on my fourth Iowa chase of the year Saturday. Results so far:

3/31 Keota EF4 (see my avatar image)
4/4 Forecasted Convective Amplification Deficiency (sat in Mt. Pleasant too long before moving on either area that ended up producing)
5/7 Severe but non-tornadic thunderstorm with lots of lightning near Corning/Creston southwest of Des Moines

Should have chased 5/13 but didn't because it was the day before Mother's Day and I had things to do.

Also, there's already been one tornado warning in Nebraska. It expired five minutes ago.
