We’ve seen that language used often for situations where many are injured. Let’s just hope that’s all that’s happened versus a potential mass fatality event.I’ll be honest, and there likely have been injuries with this tornado, but “declaring a mass casualty event” is overused because we don’t know what it means for them. Weather twitter just runs with it thinking the worst. A mass casualty, or even mass fatality, event will be drastically different for every county. There are counties in Georgia where a car accident with 5 patients requiring transport would be a mass casualty event.
