Severe WX Severe Threat 8/7/23

Refresher: Moderate Risk over a large part of the Mid-Atlantic/Appalachians today. 45% wind risk and 10% tornado risk. Extensive wind damage possible across Eastern AL and GA into the Carolinas. Hot spot for TORs will be far southern PA southwestward into far NE TN.

MDTs in August are a rare occurrence and today is the only August 10% tornado risk for much of the Mid-Atlantic.
 
First 45% damaging wind probability for Chattanooga TN since March 2nd 2012.

Probably a wise decision; a few spinups will definitely be possible but the winds will be the primary (and formidable) threat with any MCS that organizes later today.
