Severe WX Severe threat 3/30-3/31

How often does it happen a tornado touches down and there is no confirmed warning? I know I’ve seen it in the past. “Capable of producing a tornado” and never was a tds etc but one was on the ground.

It used to be all the time. Dual pol on radar has definitely made false positives and false negatives rarer, but it still happens. Especially in QLCS and multicellular situations, tornadoes can spin up fast. If they spin up and disappear within a couple minutes, they may "fly under" the radar's scan and get missed entirely. That definitely does happen, since radar only scans every few minutes unless its settings are amped up to scan every minute or so.

Fairly often. Happened in my neck of the woods on 3/15. Also heavily depends on the office and their approach (think Birmingham and their efforts to minimize FAR).

Oh shoot. Yeah I have tracked outbreaks for 20 years and know I have seen unconfirmed warnings produce deadly tornado’s. Just can’t recall how far back…

New tornado watch:

GnV03-WWUAA590N

It's about to give it a go southwest of Fairview, TN.

That Tunica, MS storm could easily go Tornado Warned at anytime now.
