Ok I’m back from the shelter. The tornado hit near where I live (McCalla/Woodstock area) but I didn’t see damage on the way back. However I’m also not driving around and looking right now. Second time in this shelter in the past two weeks

So I'm up here in Florence. What are the chances we don't see much action here today? My radar shows us pretty clear until around 3:30 or so. Right now it's just cloud covered.
I don't understand the majority of what all of you are discussing as far as the radars go and half the time the language you all use makes it sound positive when it's actually meant the opposite! So it's confusing for a noob like myself. But I keep coming back here because you're all obviously well versed and knowledgeable and it has helped me out so much during past storms. So thank you all for everything you do for people like me.
Again, please tell me Florence might not get much activity today. ♥️
I'm in Florence too. From what I see and can take from discussion, we need to watch the temps and if we get some sunshine this afternoon. We haven't had any sunshine yet but the temps have just reached into the low 70°s. It appears there is a slightly higher threat right now is 50-100 miles to our south but we are not out of the woods for this threat at all. Possible supercells are developing in NE MS as I type this and could develop and move into our area. This is still a dangerous situation for where we live and we need to monitor it closely for the next several hours. Do you have a safe place to go if a warned tor comes into our area?

Powerlines and trees down at Cahaba Valley Rd and Summer Circle.

NWS BHM is reissuing and extending the warning.
