Great way to start the thread with one of my favorite songs from Mötley Crüe, Lori. However, when speaking in terms of the ballads they did, I'd say this one edges Home Sweet Home out:

I had a large list of bands I like in this thread on the old TW, but just like the old forum itself, it is gone. I may put it back on here eventually, but I will just post a few songs from those bands I listed:

lol - now I can see the videos

You're All I Need is a great song. I think it getting banned by MTV was great because it kept the song from being overplayed so much. Still, Home Sweet Home has my favorite guitar solo of all time. The solo isn't a technical masterpiece like you'd hear from Malmsteen, EVH or anything like that but it is the perfect rock guitar solo IMO.

Well, I recovered my list to the best of my ability. As mentioned before, I rarely listen to anything beyond the 90's (in alphabetical order; bolded if I listen to them frequently):

Accept (with Udo as front man)
AC/DC (with Bon Scott as front man)
A-Ha
Aldo Nova
Alice in Chains
April Wine
Bonham
Bon Jovi (only their debut album)
BulletBoys
Cinderella
Def Leppard
Dio
Dokken

Don Dokken (solo album of Dokken's front man himself)
Foreigner
Anni-Frid Lyngstad (Frida, from Abba)
Great White
Hardline
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest

Kiss
Krokus
L.A. Guns
McAuley-Schenker Group

Megadeth
Metallica
Montrose
Mötley Crüe
Pantera
Queensrÿche
Quiet Riot
Ratt
Sammy Hagar
Scorpions
Slayer
Tesla
The Cult
'Til Tuesday
Twisted Sister
Vinnie Vincent Invasion
W.A.S.P.
Whitesnake

There are many more I know a good song or two from, but just didn't name for that exact reason. Of these bands, I typically listen to either their 70's or 80's material, since that is when they were at their best, and to a lesser extent, it is what I grew up with; though there are a few exceptions in which I found others more recently.

Accept is still making music with their new singer. Blood of Nations from 2010 is great. Pandemic and Teutonic Terror are my 2 favorite songs from that album.

Another Bama boy is in the current version of this band - Damon Johnson. They changed their name to Black Star Riders a few years ago and just recently put an album out.

I'd never heard of Blackfoot till Nathan played it when we first dated, I love this song!!

Oh and of course you can NEVER go wrong with Metallica!!

Train, Train! Good ole Muscle Shoals music! Well actually Sheffield. Always confuses people. Muscle Shoals Sound Studios are located in Sheffield. Fame (Florence Alabama Music Enterprises) is located in Muscle Shoals and NoiseBlock Recording Studio is located in Florence. Simple huh.

The Eagles will be adding Deacon Frye to their lineup to fill in for his dad. Glad to see my favorite group will carry on

I can't get enough of this song. Its the new single from the 80's band LA Guns. There have been up to 3 versions of this band in recent years, but the original singer and lead guitarist have reunited and they're releasing an album in October.

The music video is nothing special (love the Deep Purple reference though), but I am certainly impressed with how well Phil Lewis still sounds. I had not listened to any of their material after the (if you ask me) awful re-recording of Cocked and Loaded they released in 2000; though I did see them play in a local club in 2006 I believe, just because they were around. I actually ended up getting my copy of the original Cocked and Loaded signed by Phil Lewis and Steve Riley that night, so that's something. If I knew I could somehow go backstage again, I would take that same album I got signed and get Tracii's signature added to it as well, since he is touring with Phil again.
