Severe WX March 26th-27th, 2023

Here's some chaser feeds or links for anybody who wants to watch later, if y'all got any post them.

The Birmingham NWS office jurisdiction will cover a good chunk of this event so it looks like our own @mattdanielwx will be covering some of it on Fox 6 WBRC with the weather team there.

Damage from the tornado in Georgia was significantly more intense than I imagined. Looks high end EF3 with even some relatively strong contextual damage. If it goes EF4 it would only be low end of course but unless a home is well built I doubt that would occur. Quite significant though really from an unexpected tornado. And in the lower likelihood scenario it is rated EF4 it would be the first time we had two EF4s from separate events within a week since 2020!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but IIRC the NWS office in charge of that region is known for being particularly generous in tornado ratings these past several years. I know I've seen some skepticism on this site in regards to Newnan 2021 deserving it's EF4 rating. If so, that may up the chance the north Georgia tornado will achieve an EF4.

Do you have a picture that shows damage that intense? I’ve only seen maximum low end ef3 potential

meso is unimpressive but that thing is probably dropping some massive hail
Oh yeah, man some of these warning coordinators tonight are gunna have to have some serious trigger finger discipline on wether a storm is producing a tornado or just very large hail. Don't want a repeat of the Arkansas storms a few years back.

If the radar loops are any indication, the cells in western LA look like they're continuously shedding material towards the north. Make of that what you will...
