Archive March 18-20th, 2018 Severe Weather

You're on the edge of the ENH/SLT so yeah, you need to keep an eye out. You're not in the highest-end risk area but there's still a tornado and hail risk later this evening. My parents are in Warner Robins so I'm watching that area closely.

There was a severe thunderstorm warning near Thmoasville, Georgia 30 minutes ago.

I'd watch the far southern storm near Enid and due west of Water Valley. He's gonna be one to watch very closely as he tracks into Bama.

Looks like some hail is probably falling over Harvest.

...aaaand Munford, etc. Pretty impressive little pre-main-event cells

The storms near Oxford (MS) are really ramping up on reflectivity. I think the main event is beginning, off to the west.

BMX will be launching another weather balloon shortly:

"We are preparing to launch another special weather balloon sounding in the next several minutes to get an update on the conditions aloft. We will post the information here as it is processed."

The cell just ENE of Talladega has been severe-warned again.

Perhaps the fact that at least two cells thus far have undergone cycles in severity should be viewed as an omen...

Even the little showers are ominous. Got a very quick shower NW of Jasper. Super dark sky, gusty wind, and a quick spit of huge raindrops. And now it's sunny again.
