Checked out the last 10 mins of streaming from Oxford MS. That is a lot of ice. No doubt that area and others are a mess and I feel for them.

Lexington’s getting ice accumulation right now… very little snow fell (~2 in) and now we have a good amount of ice. Bummer. Quite disappointed in that.

Friends in Memphis are sending vids of driving four wheelers across 6-7 inches of solid ice. They said they maybe got 3 inches of snow but then all sleet after that. Apparently Memphis FD has 3 ambulances stuck in ditches. They're not 4wd so that'll be a problem.

Dodged a huge bullet here east of tupelo. We got icy last night around 10 to 11, and lost power for about a hour or two, but it came back on.
The temps have stayed at 33/35 since then, and we had several areas of very heavy rain come through today..
If we had been at 32 or below, I wouldn't be typing this.
Folks just to my West got hit very hard. What a difference just a very few miles make. Wow.

Yup. For the first time ever they quit for the night. Too many trees were falling in the dark making it very unsafe to try and restore power. I have SEVERAL friends that work for that agency ( TEPA)

What are everyone's snowfall rates like? Here in southern Ontario we're at about 2 cm (4/5th in) per hour and it's supposed to pick up more in the next few hours.

I can't confirm if this is from the current storm, or if a prior tornado/windstorm went through there, but wow.

NES is reporting that when they attempt to turn the power on, multiple fires start.

I'm not even going to try and measure the snow/sleet here near Russellville, AR. Yesterday at 3pm we had 3 inches of light, dry snow on a railing sheltered from the wind. At midnight all the sleet had compacted it to about 1.5 inches, this morning it was less than an inch. Maybe some freezing rain mixed in and melted some of it? I've never been through a snow event that was majority sleet (and maybe freezing rain mixed in).

Sitting right at 32-33° in the metro right now. A little worried about the chances of picking up some more freezing rain as the wave of precip comes through. Trees are still pretty iced up and the CAD is really holding on. We’ll see how it goes.

Not as important in light of the severe winter weather, but I bet the NFL is relieved both conference championship games today are out West or they would have had issues with possibly having to reschedule these games.

Got out of the house at 7:30 AM and it was very frigid. It was the coldest that I have felt at 31 degrees in Georgia. No wind was blowing. Went back out at 10am. The walk was very icy. The dogs were slipping and it was a wild walk.

Raining steadily now. Think there is some frozen precip mixed in. We are right on the freezing line. Just heard a tree snap in the back.

46 degrees here in LaGrange..previously predicted highs were 61, 56, and 51… all missed.. it’s downhill from here.. frozen puddles and draining coming up.. Troup and Harris counties closed tomorrow for schools.
I am cautiously noticing the warm nose doing damage to the wedge - 32 degree line moving east now, as hoped. I'm also noticing there are not big winds pushing west out of the CAD as much. I think west of ATL is going to be good. Hopefully it will continue to bulldoze it out of the way and y'all just get rain.

Crazy!! Yes the refreeze overnight will be trouble. We’re supposed to get up to 42 but I just don’t see that happening, the wedge was much stronger than anticipated.

Hope so! We’re sitting at 33° but it’s gotten pretty dark and the tall pines in the yard are really starting to sway. Hoping for the warm nose to kick into blowtorch mode

All of Louisiana is under an Extreme Cold Warning along with most of Texas and parts of Mississippi, Alabama and Oklahoma.
