Hurricane Hurricane Milton

Right now the core looks as healthy as it has all morning.
It's going to actually pull off that second EWRC, isn't it? Insanity. Didn't have that on the bingo card either. Good grief.

EDIT: Actually, did it just abort and reform the inner eyewall? Doesn't look big enough to have been the outer.

Absolutely insane seeing wedges from a hurricane. Okeechobee area is alright with tornado warnings right now.

I think this is going to be major in every way -- a tornado outbreak, massive freshwater flooding, massive storm surge, massive wind...this is a freaking royal flush

FWIW - low tide is at 2:19pm local time for Tampa Bay, and high tide is at 6:50am Thursday morning.
What time is landfall predicted?

Wind history demonstrating the expansion of wind fields.

I used to like this graphic but it seems entirely inaccurate now especially with this hurricane. The northwest side of the storm has a much smaller swath of tropical storm force winds than the southeastern side and it's not appreciated on this NHC product. They should remove or modify it to reflect actual recon data instead of being fixed points with fixed diameter circles around those points. With a perfectly symmetrical system this is okay but it rubs me the wrong way here. It does show the expansion of winds which is important but it does not do a good job of showing where those winds actually are.

I can not get over how well wrapped up and symmetrical that core still is. Not good.
