Hurricane Hurricane Milton

Thanks everyone. I did say tentative lol We haven't decided for sure yet, but it's a complex decision for a lot of reasons. I'll keep y'all updated either way.
We just don't want you to die.

I wonder how the high winds will affect the surge forecast even as this thing approaches land and weakens. It will still be pushing a ton of water.

He might end up as one of those surviving interviewees that breaks down rehashing the experience. Or he comes out of it so confident that he applies for 'Naked and Afraid' Florida Everglades. Whatever the case, hopefully he details his experience on the forum with plenty of videos.

Is it still intensifying?
No plane in there currently to tell us, so truthfully we don't know, but no signs of it stopping intensifying on satellite.

Evacuate if you're able, between surge, rain and wind there's a large number of reasons attempting to stay in even a well-built structure could be dangerous.

Y'all in Florida just come up to Alabama. We're happy to host you.

I think this is from Best Track, it's extrapolated probably using a combination of past recon data and ADT Dvorak data, and just continuing the trend of apparent strengthening. In other words, an estimate. I think we'll get firm data in the next hour, and my guess is it's already 900 mb or lower.

111 satellite imagery saved on Milton and counting for PowerPoint Presentation I'll be starting on post season.

Satellite presentation has definitely improved over the last hour and a half. I won't be shocked to see sub 900mb on the next recon. In fact, I expect it. I will actually be surprised if we aren't in the low to mid 890s.

Looks like the Yacutan is about to be hit by the southern rainbands if it has not already hit. Not the center of the storm by any means but still enough to pack a punch.

Check out maps on your phones and zoom to Tampa area. The outbound traffic is horrible but good to see.
I think Helene woke a lot of people up. Glad to see people leaving already.
