• Looks like our DeLorean hit 88 miles per hour a little too hard! A recent style update went sideways, sending us back to a retro look for a bit. We've parked that faulty future theme for now while we tinker under the hood.

The last report that I heard was that 69 people were killed and hundreds injured.

A couple of my colleagues at the museum were down there for a conference last week and left right before this happened.

Pyroclastic flows are up there with things like tsunamis for most terrifying geophysical phenomenon in my book.

Over 200 people missing according to a report on CBS This Morning. Their government is reaching out to the UN for immediate assistance. From the sounds of things, this threat is not over.

The pictures out of Guatemala are just so horrible. I won't post them here but Matt Drudge has one on his main page that makes me just pause for a moment and think about what was going through their minds. Time just stopped for them.
