Wow. Has a November hurricane ever blown up like this? I can't think of one.

It's a 5. Recon will confirm that. The T-numbers are off the chart for a storm in this basin. Simply unbelievable. Doubt much weakening, if any, will take place before landfall. Likely another system intensifying up until landfall.

The potential death toll and damage from a storm like this (and ensuing flood event) is hard to even imagine. Someone mentioned Hurricane Mitch -- that's an unfortunate baseline for what is likely to occur.

This has been one of the most rapidly intensifying cyclones in the Atlantic regardless of timing in hurricane season. There is nothing short of historic about this season.

I wouldn't be shocked to see something anywhere from 890 - 915 or so. Not even going to try to guess what kind of wind speed recon will find.
