Definitely a secondary eyewall forming. Satellite intensity estimates were rather overdone as per actual recon. But I see that as a win for the people of Nicaragua, so let's hope this storm struggles mightily with the additional eyewall and that the structure is undermined quickly.

It's awful, thinking about what's happening in Central America right now in this storm, so will just jump in and ask everyone what they expect to see later in the Gulf: a tropical or extratropical system?

The Ulúa River in Honduras is at 15 meters, four meters higher than its peak flood during Mitch. The flooding in Central America right now is literally unprecedented.
