The sideways photos are not apart of it being rushed. Also they never resurveyed Bremen, they were actually surveying another tornado near Central City.

Sorry but I'm gonna have to disagree. I understand sideways pictures happen with smartphones sometimes but if they can't take five seconds to look at the picture they just took instead of saying "eh, good enough" that really says something imo.

Also didn't someone on here say they were sending another survey team to Bremen?

NWS PAH said they were sending another survey team to the Central City area which some people thought they mean’t Bremen. Also NWS PAH said the photos didn’t rotate properly when inserting them so they will have to manually rotate all the photos eventually.

I wish more public figures in the private sector would be explicitly calling this an EF5 based on DIs rather than deferring to the NWS.

They should also be calling Bowling Green KY, Saloma KY, and Dresden TN EF4s and note that Buckeye AR was a “high-end” EF4.

The level of dissent should be deafening, the opposition swift, in order to effect meaningful changes to the existing system. NOW.

Forget the WFOs. The final decision in regard to the EF ratings was probably “out of their hands” from the start. The rot is on the national rather than the local level.
 
Annotation of downtown Mayfield showing the locations relative to the damage path of the three churches that were heavily damaged or destroyed. The First United Methodist Church is, by far, the furthest from the core of the damage path. The First Christian Church was that domed structure that we looked at the day after that was severely damaged, while the First Presbyterian Church is the brick one that was almost completely flattened (with the prominent tower).

New EF4 DI in Cambridge Shores. I know, I know, it's the dreaded subflooring, but the photo shows closely spaced proper anchor bolts and sill plating all around the foundation.

Interesting how the most intense structural damage in downtown Mayfield seems to have occurred away from the center line of the damage path. I’d infer that the very intense damage to the Methodist Church occurred as a result of a strong sub-vortex. The fact that it appears this tornado was able to collapse extremely thick, heavy stone walls (possibly marble or granite it looks like) is just downright terrifying. Looks worse than any of the damage to masonry buildings after the Czech F4.

I'm not sure I'd infer that given the First Christian Church and First Presbyterian Church suffered more complete damage and were in the core.
