Is that what is listed on DAT?Why was that house given only an EF-2 rating? That sounds like some real BS.

Did they seriously?? Ok, that simply should not be allowed. They WENT BELOW THE LOWER BOUND OF THE DI! They are literally breaking the set of guidelines set in place by the scale. Reform is desperately, desperately needed. I’m honestly fuming right now…
That wouldn't surprise me. I almost wonder if they're being told or at least encouraged to avoid rating "too many" violent tornadoes as such. I agree that it might have to do with the thinking that people won't want to move to areas that are prone to violent tornadoes.I get the impression they were strong-armed into making a bad call by outside influences. Could be wrong though.
Sounds like they're just making excuses now.Ah I can't laugh more at this. On the day of the final decision, a supposed-to-be EF4 property rated EF2, they use the word "likely", AND the decision maker did not even show up.

"Exterior walls collapsed"? I don't see any walls at all, it's almost slabbed (unless, of course, there are invisible walls somewhere...)
Reportedly an engineer in SOT thinks EF4 at a glance. Proposes garage failure in preventing a higher rating
This was rated 140mph....maybe by NWS Louisville, what the hell?

140mph and 120mph for a comparison.
That is a big lie. That thing is almost entirely swept away.
Meanwhile we have a house that has some siding and parts of its roof stripped, and that gets rated 140 mph EF3...That is a big lie. That thing is almost entirely swept away.
Wow!!! I am speechless.Meanwhile we have a house that has some siding and parts of its roof stripped, and that gets rated 140 mph EF3...
Somebody needs to put both of those damage points side by side, just to emphasize how bad this has become. The scale needs reform and soon.Meanwhile we have a house that has some siding and parts of its roof stripped, and that gets rated 140 mph EF3...
I normally don’t inject myself in this conversation, but that may be the dumbest rating I’ve ever seen. So is Newnan an EF0?
I honestly don't know which is worse, that or this (rated EF3):I normally don’t inject myself in this conversation, but that may be the dumbest rating I’ve ever seen. So is Newnan an EF0?
How can at least low-end EF4 damage be considered low-end EF2 damage and mid to high-end EF1 damage be considered low-end EF3 damage? Is there any way to raise enough of an uproar that WFOSs will have to acknowledge the inconsistency and highly questionable calls that break the rules of the scale, and have zero precedence? It’s clear to me that whoever is running the NWS Louisville Twitter page are out of the loop and have little say when it comes to this situation.
