Sorry I haven't been around much. But unfortunately, I've been dealing with the loss of my dad. He passed away on the 22nd of August at the age of 76 after catching pneumonia at the nursing home that he was undergoing rehabilitation at. In June, just after we got home from our cruise to Alaska, we had to rush him to the emergency room due to a twisted intestine. He had to undergo emergency surgery and while the surgery went well, it's believed he had a stroke while he was still under sedation, which he didn't wake up from for 6 days. He seemed like he was recovering while in the hospital. But when he went to the nursing home last month, that's when things started to go downhill. He became severly dehydrated and underweight. And we have reason to believe that the nursing home didn't provide him enough care. They didn't clean his mouth like they should have and they didn't give him ice to chew on, which would have helped him with recovering his swallowing ability. We believe he caught the pneumonia when he wasn't able to swallow correctly.
