IIRC there's a bill being introduced to fund a new radar in that exact area! Lemme see if I can find it later. Not to derail this thread, but the radar holes in Arkansas/Louisiana/MS delta are straight up pathetic and unacceptable for 21st century weather. Way too many in some of the most active regions in the country.
The SPC mesoanalysis map. Here's the link; just select whatever region you're most interested in:a
where do you find this map at?
Yeah not to derail the thread more but we should be investing more into installing radar sites to cover everything. Everyone deserves to be able to be given adequate warning if their life is in danger. Not to derail this thread, but the radar holes in Arkansas/Louisiana/MS delta are straight up pathetic and unacceptable for 21st century weather. Believe they did, but its not NWS? Cant remember specifics....or honestly how to access itI thought Durant was supposed to get a radar? I'd be privy of it during these current events.
Good to hear it's not just me. Definitely an issue with the Iowa State servers.Dealing with some really weird connectivity problems with GR2A. Either way, that's a dangerous-looking storm up by Sulphur Springs, though hard to tell how close to the ground it is.
US needs a radar system overhaul regardless actually. The NWS needs a overhaul too, honestly the SPC website looks like it was made in the 2000s.Not to derail this thread, but the radar holes in Arkansas/Louisiana/MS delta are straight up pathetic and unacceptable for 21st century weather. Not sure about the SPC site but I know weather.gov is getting a complete overhaul, I believe both front-end and back-end, and it should be publicly available later this year or by 2026.US needs a radar system overhaul regardless actually. Those two storms just got even stronger, the Emory one just got a tornado warningTwo rather tight rotations in Texas. Still rather far from the radar though so it maybe higher up. View attachment 39089
Wasn’t that hit be eF4 in last decade?A tornado warning should be coming for Canton texas, a rather impressive meso.
