Severe WX April 11th-13th, 2020 Severe Weather Threat

Some interesting stuff going on down near Pine Hill. Far from any radar though, so hard to get a good look for now.

Also, Carbon Hill essentially had no lead time to work with. The warning wasn’t issued until the tornado was striking the town. Not good, and also avoidable, as there was clearly an intensifying couplet approaching the town for several scans!

Was it at least severe thunderstorm warned?

Just an FYI we are dealing with a potential denial of service attack on our servers. You may notice a prompt shortly asking you to verify you are a human.

I was watching that area for about half an hour. Fully expected that notch to produce. It got TOR'd about the time it hit town, and only SVR warned a few minutes prior I think

Well that was fun. The storm through Marshall county went right over us

I'm sure BMX is quite upset at not issuing more of an advance warning. They are some of the best in the business and it's pretty rare for them to not have excellent lead time on their warnings. I know you know all this, but it's really crappy all the way around as it is so uncharacteristic for BMX to be late on a warning even though they also have a very good FAR.

Wind and and rain right now is INTENSE.

Kind of irrelevant with everything that is going on, but this thread may contain more pages of posts than the archived 4/27/11 thread. I’m glad to have so many people involved in this forum!
