If Write In Guy siphons votes off anyone it will be right-leaning Jones voters. I doubt he has much of an impact but in a close race a few hundred votes could be a difference maker.
It amazes me that anybody would consider voting for Moore. How could you put a probable rapist in the senate?
!!!!!???? Can you elaborate? Did he say God told him to vote for Moore?I had a conversation today that was very eye opening. It is scary to know people think the way this person does, but he's a staunch Moore supporter and there are many more just like him. I hesitate to even use the word think. We're not talking about ideological difference or similarities, it's much bigger than that. Apparently God intervened and gave us Trump and is giving us Moore.

The study includes a lecture from William O. Einwechter, a teacher elder at Immanuel Free Reformed Church. The lesson, titled "What the Bible Says About Female Magistrates," contends the Bible forbids women from holding elected office.
"She's not a warrior. She's not a judge. She's a woman. Created by God. Glorious in her place and in her conduct and in her role," Einwechter said. "Nothing is said in scripture that supports the notion that she is qualified or called to be a civil magistrate."
Einwechter ends the lecture with statement saying that Christians cannot vote for a woman, no matter their politics.
It doesn't amaze me at all. I've lived in Alabama long enough to know this state absolutely deserves its reputation. Not everyone is bad, but 90% of the state is a sewer. It doesn't matter how many people he raped/molested/whatever, if he says he loves Jesus he's getting elected because the majority of the state thinks that it's all a conspiracy from Satan to stop a Christian from taking office. In other words, the majority of the people in this state are really, really stupid. It amazes me that anybody would consider voting for Moore. How could you put a probable rapist in the senate?

At the end of the day, do any of us really believe Roe vs. Wade will ever be overturned? I think it's a Republican talking point for wedging purposes that has no real teeth behind it. Republicans know that the majority of the American population support abortion rights to at least some degree, so even though they may make noise about it, I don't think they're serious about trying to enact major restrictions. I think the most practical way to reduce abortions is through education, birth control access, adoption, and assistance to single mothers. That's why I don't see something like Doug Jones' pro-choice stance making any significant difference on this issue one way or the other, and certainly doesn't merit electing Crazy Roy Moore in his place.
The Republican Party has used abortion as a tool to buy votes and most of them have no true desire to actually do anything about it once they're in office. I bet there are at least a few Republican politicians who have paid for an abortion to CYA from their fooling around.
If Jones loses to Moore... the Dem party of Alabama needs to rethink it's platform or at least how they publicly portray it especially when it comes to abortion. Moore is a buffoon and a fraud and should be 10 pts behind right now
The majority of the posters here reside in Lee County?Jones' likely lost this election the day after Moore beat Strange when Doug doubled down on his extremist, nutty views on abortion. It was really one of the dumbest politician campaign mistakes I've ever seen, especially once you consider he's actually run a strong campaign otherwise. If there was ever an issue he needed to moderate on, flip flop, lie, whatever you want to call it, it would have been abortion.
I know the majority of us are dumb and reside in a sewer, but we know murder when we see it and Jones should have realized that.
Another issue to think about.........any chance Huntsville or Birmingham had to attract Amazon's HQ2 will go out the door if Moore is elected, you can bet on that. Alabama is a long shot anyway, but with this race becoming so high profile you can bet Amazon will strike both cities off the list if they're being considered at all.
