2026 Political Thread

Let me just say that my previous two posts in this thread were edited because of foul language.

Fair enough. I went too far in that regard, and take full responsibility for my actions. Still, notifications I got from a moderator (I suspect I know who it is but will not attempt to name them publicly) came off as a borderline personal attack, instead of simply notifying me my posts were edited and politely but firmly reiterating what the forum's rules are.

At least another moderator (@JayF) was very polite when he DM'd me about this issue. Thanks, Jay.

Really not trying to 'play the victim' here, because again, *I* was the one who broke the forum's rules in this regard. Still, since I'm entitled to my opinion, I feel this particular moderator's warning could have been less hostile in nature.
Interesting. Because you criticize me in one aspect and then praise me in another. I am the one who wrote all of that. Not really appreciative of that. The intention behind the post was that we are all allowed to have our opinions, and it doesn't matter what they are. I don't care what the opinion is, whether you are liberal or conservative, the language used is not allowed.

Now I do not really have to explain, but I am choosing to. I used that language because I did not want it to come off as a political attack on your opinion. If someone who had the opposite opinion of you had posted the same thing in a similar manner (And they have) I would have posted the exact same thing and given them the same warning.

Have a blessed day.

I didn't know you were the moderator that wrote those messages. I was assuming a different mod did. As such, I'm glad I didn't try to publicly call anyone out, for my assumption was incorrect.

Still, saying "I do not care how you feel" came off as very insensitive. I know you were referring to political opinions in this context, but in general that phrase can really rub someone the wrong way, especially if you don't know what's currently going on in their personal life.

Not here to debate the rules of the forum. Again, I used language I shouldn't have, and it was corrected by you (appropriately, I might add). The only thing I'm saying, is that your initial tone could have been more respectful.

Anyhow, thanks for the explanation. I do appreciate it. Moving on now...

(and just for the record, to anyone reading this, I'm not accusing the moderation staff of political bias or anything like that. I'm also a centrist/libertarian, but my political views are completely irrelevant to the point I'm making here.)

Isn’t ironic that Trump’s Birthday is on Flag Day? The latest controversy is that a UFC Fight was staged at the White House this past Sunday for Trump”s 80th Birthday. Unlike Obama, I didn’t think Trump cared that much about sports.

The Iran deal will go down as the final nail in the coffin of American hegemony and superpower status. Trump has done more in two terms to destroy American power than the Chinese, Russians, North Koreans, or any other enemy of ours over the past century.

Can't wait until the Republicans try to trot out the usual "the Democrats are trying to destroy America" claptrap for the midterms. Buddy, the cult leader you allowed to swallow your party whole already did so. I'm actually convinced at this point that the most malign liberals in the country could be given 20 years in power and wouldn't even be able to scratch the surface of the enormity of the damage that Trump has wrought.

How do you launch a war with numerous specific objectives and a list of red lines and capitulate on EVERY SINGLE ONE? Trump makes Obama look like a roided-out Reagan. He makes Neville Chamberlain look like a war hawk. People call the French "cheese-eating surrender monkeys," yet the French appear absolutely astounded that someone would surrender so readily just because his idiot son-in-law said he negotiated a great deal with a terrorist regime that has murdered or maimed several thousand Americans over the past 25 years.

It's not just that he's the worst president in American history, it's that he's also the most corrupt, the dumbest, the weakest, the most gullible, the most selfish and self-interested, the least religious, the most arrogant, the most profligate spender, the most narcissistic. I could carry this list on with another 30 superlatives, but I digress.

What a disaster. Trump voters were loudly and repeatedly warned that all of this would happen. The blame does not rest solely at Trump's feet. Trump's supporters and enablers will also go down in history as those who brought America to its knees, all because they believed the obvious falsehoods and lies emanating from the most notorious and heavily documented liar in world history. The most charitable explanation at this point would be... well, I can't really think of one.

By no means is Trump the only current affliction plaguing American society and politics. Horseshoe theory is real and the far left in this country has little at this point that separates them from being MAGA outside of some of the usual polemical cultural issues. Substantively, especially on issues of government size and power, foreign policy, anti-semitism, capitalism and free markets, and a host of other issues -- they are now firmly aligned which is terrifying.

I am not sure you understand what you have written. Its like that line that Eminem said to Lotto during the rap battles "
This guy keeps screamin', he's paranoid!
Quick, someone get his * another steroid!
"Blahbity bloo blah blah blahbity blooh blah!""

I would love to read your commentary on the 4 years that was Joe Biden.
