2026 Political Thread

Let me just say that my previous two posts in this thread were edited because of foul language.

Fair enough. I went too far in that regard, and take full responsibility for my actions. Still, notifications I got from a moderator (I suspect I know who it is but will not attempt to name them publicly) came off as a borderline personal attack, instead of simply notifying me my posts were edited and politely but firmly reiterating what the forum's rules are.

At least another moderator (@JayF) was very polite when he DM'd me about this issue. Thanks, Jay.

Really not trying to 'play the victim' here, because again, *I* was the one who broke the forum's rules in this regard. Still, since I'm entitled to my opinion, I feel this particular moderator's warning could have been less hostile in nature.
Interesting. Because you criticize me in one aspect and then praise me in another. I am the one who wrote all of that. Not really appreciative of that. The intention behind the post was that we are all allowed to have our opinions, and it doesn't matter what they are. I don't care what the opinion is, whether you are liberal or conservative, the language used is not allowed.

Now I do not really have to explain, but I am choosing to. I used that language because I did not want it to come off as a political attack on your opinion. If someone who had the opposite opinion of you had posted the same thing in a similar manner (And they have) I would have posted the exact same thing and given them the same warning.

Have a blessed day.

I didn't know you were the moderator that wrote those messages. I was assuming a different mod did. As such, I'm glad I didn't try to publicly call anyone out, for my assumption was incorrect.

Still, saying "I do not care how you feel" came off as very insensitive. I know you were referring to political opinions in this context, but in general that phrase can really rub someone the wrong way, especially if you don't know what's currently going on in their personal life.

Not here to debate the rules of the forum. Again, I used language I shouldn't have, and it was corrected by you (appropriately, I might add). The only thing I'm saying, is that your initial tone could have been more respectful.

Anyhow, thanks for the explanation. I do appreciate it. Moving on now...

(and just for the record, to anyone reading this, I'm not accusing the moderation staff of political bias or anything like that. I'm also a centrist/libertarian, but my political views are completely irrelevant to the point I'm making here.)
