There’s a wave that has been showing up on the gfs for a couple days around the 12-15 time frame. Looks like it turns into at least a TS in the Atlantic and fizzles out south of Haiti. Will be interesting to see if it stays intact on future runs.

The NHC is issuing advisories on PTC6 as it approaches Hispaniola. We'll probably have Fred later today.

2 weeks out but this has been showing up for a couple days now on the GFS. Major Hurricane striking the east coast somewhere between Savannah and the Outer Banks. Tracks could change and it could stay out to sea but first major storm approaching the US this season according to the GFS.

Edit to say now its gone. Something to watch.

Voodoo land GFS storm is now a major hurricane hitting South Texas instead of turning up the East Coast. Will be interesting to see the next couple days and its progression.

Models have shifted Henri significantly west, to the point where a landfall in New England is on the table. Probably needs a dedicated thread.

Latest Henri track on GFS shows it giving New York a kiss before flowing off into the Atlantic

One storm worth keeping an eye on is Tropical Storm Nora out in the Pacific. NHC has the storm moving generally N to slightly NW as it skirts the western coast of Mexico as a hurricane. Most interstingly is that the storm has the potential to make landfall in Baja California with its remnants bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms to the southwestern United States (namely Southern California and Arizona).

Incidentally, Hurricane Nora reached Arizona as a tropical storm in 1997.

12z GFS still showing a strong storm heading right for the Bahamas and possibly the East Coast of Florida around the 9/10-9/11 range.

That would possibly be helpful with the severe drought they are experiencing but would also potentially create dangerous flash flooding.
