Are the courts right 100% of the time? Show me the constitution where the government is free of religion?
Well, since, according to the establishment clause, govt can’t enhance or establish a religion, it has to be free of religion. Which religion would the constitution and the govt of the US favor?

I think you need to reread the establishment clause. Government cannot regulate, establish or dictate what religion does or does not do. The government is not free from religious ideals as the government can be run by a Christian or a Muslim, or any person of any religion should the people elect said, person. While the constitution does not mention God directly, the Declaration of Independence is just as crucial to the United States as the Constitution.

“WE HOLD THESE TRUTHS TO BE SELF-EVIDENT, THAT ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL, THAT THEY ARE ENDOWED BY THEIR CREATOR WITH CERTAIN UNALIENABLE RIGHTS, THAT AMONG THESE ARE LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.”

Who is the creator if it is not God? Who is Thomas Jefferson referring to? If the government cannot mention God or have anything to do with God, why is God found in not only this Declaration but in most constitutions of the states?

Alabama:
We, the people of the State of Alabama, in order to establish justice, insure domestic tranquillity, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, invoking the favor and guidance of Almighty God, do ordain and establish the following Constitution and form of government for the State of Alabama:

California:
We, the People of the State of California, grateful to Almighty God for our freedom, in order to secure and perpetuate its blessings, do establish this Constitution.

Illinois:
We, the People of the State of Illinois — grateful to Almighty God for the civil, political and religious liberty which He has permitted us to enjoy and seeking His blessing upon our endeavors

I could go on and on and on. But according to your interpretation of the establishment clause and what liberal judges have said, none of that would be permissible.

You didn’t answer my question.

I don’t know what to think about the FBI searching Mar a Lago. It seems excessive if they are just wanting some presidential documents back. Was a subpoena tried? Did they ASK for them? What’s the real story?

They better make sure it’s a slam dunk whatever it was about. If they have the goods on him, lock him up.

I actually think this is a bigger deal in the big picture if this turns up nothing than if it does

I’m with you 100%. The FBI has to understand the implications of not getting this right.

The FBI has become a LIberal pawn. They do their dirty work, take all the punishment for it, and then act like the blocker to try and protect the king. If you don't see it, then nothing I can say or do will assist in changing your mind.

Garland is a fool. Everyone knows you cannot investigate a former occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and a potential candidate for President, unless that person is named Hillary Clinton.

Suddenly, the Democrats are OK with the FBI investigating a potential candidate for mishandling classified information. And, now, the Republicans are against it and aghast that DOJ would do such a thing.

The hypocrisy is almost comedic considering how blatant it is.

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are two incredibly unethical, immoral, and greedy people. They have both spent their entire lives stepping on the backs of average people in their quest to amass power, wealth, and political control. There is no difference in character between the two of them. Both have committed multiple criminal acts in the past 30 years.

If you believe there's a difference between Trump and Hillary, as it pertains to their character or who they are and what they're about, then you're either not jaded enough or partisanship has firm control of your sensibilities.

The only measurable difference between the two are their purported policy beliefs. Those beliefs have shifted like the wind throughout their lives depending upon what was most convenient or best aligned with their goals of obtaining wealth and power. There's a reason Trump was a proud Clinton donor and that Hillary would've stepped on the backs of a thousand crippled children to take every dime Trump was willing to offer.

The partisans are right about one thing: both Trump and Hillary deserve to be in prison.

The FBI wouldn't hesitate to search my home if I had those types of documents and wouldn't give them back. Why should I care that they search the home of a former President? Is there something in the statute that Trump purportedly violated that says it doesn't apply to former Presidents? Did a federal judge review the warrant application and approve it?

The optics of the seizure can be debated, but we're not yet privy to DOJ's evidence or what steps they took prior to obtaining a warrant for an in-person. I started typing this post at 10am this morning but got slammed at work. Guess we're going to see very soon what the search warrant was about. Regardless, I feel zero sympathy for Trump just like I wouldn't feel any for Hillary. Rules for thee but not for me is the antithesis of Conservatism and a democratic society.

Trump is going to wish Garland was on the Supreme Court after this is over with.

Really, Why hasn't the FBI investigated Joe Biden, his son, and the shady dealings with Ukraine and China?
Why hasn't the FBI investigated Nancy Pelosi and her husband constantly doing insider deals based on information she receives from her position?
If the FBI was above board, they need to show us the affidavit and search warrant for this raid.

I have felt like the FBI was liberal all the way back to my teenage years and when I was a soldier. If I lost it, then I lost it way back then. And before you ask what my family must have taught me when I was a teen to think that way, let me tell you I grew up in Liberal Illinois, and at the time, my family was primarily democrats. They have never investigated Liberal Democrats the same as they have conservatives and republicans.

I have one question - why did it take 18 months to search for classified nuclear documents? I would assume these are accounted for and one would know quickly if they were missing.
I'm not taking either side on this, instead I am taking a unique approach. I'm firmly on Team Let The Facts Play Out before formulating an opinion. The final answer, whatever it may be, will not be good for someone.

Depending on the document, that can be a very bad assumption.

If you think Pelosi should be investigated for this you better broaden your search... probably over half the Senate are doing this especially on the red side... I hear Tuberville is one of the best at this.

But nuclear secrets, though? If that's the case lets just blow the world up now. We're doomed anyway.

I am not putting my head in the sand, but Pelosi made national headlines for this. And I say this if any member of congress, its staff, or anyone tied to those in these offices makes money off of trading based on information that is not publicly available, then they as well should be prosecuted. I don't care what side of the isle you reside.

Sure is quiet in here. Given how upset some of the folks here were with Hillary and her servers, I figured there would be tons of “Lock him up!” posts made by now.
You know I despise trump. But, I could see giving him the benefit of the doubt here. He treat MAL as a southern White House. It’s possible the documents were left from his working time there. However, I don’t understand why he didn’t want to return them. Does he just always want to be difficult?

I'm no fan of Trump either, although I'm probably more sympathetic to him than many here. If he's guilty, let him walk the plank for all I care. I don't want him to be in the running for 2024, so it won't hurt my feelings if he goes down over this deal, but up to this point this isn't exactly black and white. Unfortunately the way the FBI has acted the last 6 years, there's plenty of reason for people to be reserved on this whole ordeal.

Additionally, I think there's a heavy contingent that is basically "well the FBI let Hilary walk, so who cares if Trump did the same". I'm not in that camp, but I think that's contributing to the situation.
