You guys will never guess who was funding Lev Parnas’ investigation!
Ummmmm Big Bird?

Listening to the comments in the House this morning. I don't understand why Republicans aren't trying to defend the President. They are just screeching the process wasn't fair. Same old thing they did in the hearings. Tell us why what he did with Ukraine was perfect. The whining without defense just make him seem more guilty in my eyes.

That being said I think we would be better off with Pence. Based on some of the reporting on some of the more radical outlets it sounds like some members of the Senate are thinking the same thing and there might be some private discussions going on.

I would love to see what Pence has to bring to the table. I think he could at least bring some dignity to the WH yet he’d need to stay on conservative agenda so the press and liberals will still think him the devil.

Well Trump finally got more votes than Clinton. Too bad for him it was more votes than Bill Clinton got on impeachment.

he has actually received more votes for impeachment than any other president.

semantics considering it was basically a party line vote and the Dems have a pretty strong majority.

I know the Democrats made this point today, but are there really people out there that buy the idea that impeachng Trump goes against the will of the American people and nullifies the 2016 election? Pence isn't being impeached. Plenty of voters voted for the current House majority and voted for Trump's opponent. Last time I checked, Hillary will not be made President not matted what happens to Trump.

I feel like the entire notion of checks and balances has been abandoned in exchange for hardcore partisan obstinacy and shameless sycophancy.

The Founding Fathers provided a good amount of guidance, but in the end they acknowledged that impeachment and an impeachable offense is pretty much whatever Congress says it is. Acting as if we have some kind of real precedence based off of two prior impeachment cases is a really poor argument.

I agree with some of the arguments that Democrats rushed impeachment. I just don't think they had any alternative. They could've fought the contested subpoenas for key witnesses all the way to Congress. But that would've led to exactly what Trump wanted -- running out the clock. It's been the White House strategy the entire time. This particular Presidential administration has stubbornly refused to accede to reasonable and legitimate oversight requests since Trump was sworn in. Trump forced their hand -- a fait accompli. Let the admin run out the clock and set a new precedent for future admins or make a case using evidence that has become public even though it's almost guaranteed that more damning and convincing evidence is being held back by the White House.

I'm not willing to say the Democrats handled this situation well, but they were forced to play the hand they were dealt. I think the evidence is clear that Trump committed high crimes and misdemeanors -- in fact, there's a number of other situations and events that were also impeachable that were not included in the two articles of impeachment passed tonight. I also think Pelosi and the House leadership proceeded ahead even though conventional wisdom and polling has told them since Trump's inauguration that impeachment was almost guaranteed to harm their party's political standing and electoral future.

Why, then, did Pelosi and the Democrats proceed ahead? I truly believe that they came to the conclusion, in light of thd situation with Ukraine, that if they didn't take serious action that Trump would become increasingly anti-democratic and invite additional foreign interests to interfere with our elections. The argument that the Democrats "just hate Trump" and that's why they impeached him -- because they are deranged liberals -- has never made sense to me. I think it is only convincing if you have a grade school mentality and very simplistic view of how the world functions. Pelosi and the House leadership didn't get to where they are in politics by making rash decisions that harm their electoral prospects because they're deranged, irrational, and full of hatred.

What I've seen from the GOP and Trump over the past few weeks is a whole lot of projection and shiny cat toys and almost zero substance.

I think it is mildly humorous to see Van Drew's actions and the GOP's response almost perfectly mirror what I posted a few days ago. It was so nakedly political and full of self-interest that you'd think it would be blatantly obvious to anyone who's even halfway paying attention. But, alas, it appears to be another shiny cat toy that has mesmerized the usual suspects. Funny how that works isn't it?

What a complete and total dick our President is...

Why would you say that? Can't wait to see what kind of bad-faith nuttery and incoherent babble the Gaetz's and Gohmert's of the world serve up to defend Trump on this one.

I actually think that is part of the reason why impeachment support is waning, especially among a critical group: independents. Whether it be right or wrong, I think that's how a plurality of people are viewing it.

Take a new Gallup poll released Wednesday morning, before the House vote, which shows two things happening since House Democrats, led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California, opened up a formal impeachment inquiry in October regarding Trump's conduct with Zelensky:

1) Trump's job approval rating has gone from 39% to 45%

2) Support for Trump's impeachment and removal has dipped from 52% to 46%.

Those results largely affirm other data out over the past week or so that suggest support for impeachment has dipped. In a CNN national poll released earlier this week, 45% said they supported the impeachment and removal of the President -- down from 50% who said the same in a mid-November CNN survey. That same poll showed opposition to impeachment/removal at 46%, up 4 points from mid-November. And a CNN "poll of polls" -- an average of all six most recent quality/credible national polling conducted between December 4 and December 15 -- showed 46% favored impeachment and removal as compared to 49% who did not.

A little something to laugh at... Apparently the USDA has listed the Kingdom of Wakanda as a free trading partner. I'm sure some poor intern is having a horrible day.

A USDA spokesperson said the Kingdom of Wakanda was added to the list by accident during a staff test. The department's online tariff tracker hosted a detailed list of goods the two nations apparently traded, including ducks, donkeys and dairy cows. In the Marvel universe, Wakanda is the fictional East African home country of superhero Black Panther. The fictional country was removed soon from the list after US media first queried it, prompting jokes that the countries had started a trade war.

Keep in mind not a single bill has been passed and this is the resistance to these liberal gun grabbers. It’s great to see this kind of movement. Too bad it’s because these fecal matter stains called politicians don’t understand two simple words: SHALL NOT.

Stirred awake by Democratic proposals to take, register, and possibly seize their legally obtained weapons, Virginia gun owners in just 43 days have pushed 90% of the state’s counties [containing 40% of the population] to become gun “sanctuaries,” the latest three on Monday night.

Since the Nov. 5 election that gave Democrats control of Richmond, an “organic,” pro-gun movement has prompted the governments of 86 of Virginia’s 95 counties, as well as 15 towns and cities, to adopt some type of sanctuary language, putting Gov. Ralph Northam and other liberals on notice that their gun control plans aren’t welcome.

Editor in Chief of Christianity Today gives interview about his recent editorial calling for Trump to be removed from office.

The interview is one of the most-shared items on social media today.

Not going to say it's a "huge" deal, because nothing really gets through to the Trump cult. But, it is important for a number of other reasons.

No surprise that defenders of Trump's immorality and wickedness have painted CT as being co-opted by liberals and being guided by Satan. Perfectly normal to sleep with a porn star because your wife just had a baby. That's not being guided by Satan. Being guided by Satan is when you criticize Trump.

I wonder if this is how people who visited Jonestown felt when trying to get through to their relatives and friends? At what point do you give up and consider people irredeemably lost?

I find it rather funny that Nancy Pelosi is worried about a fair impeachment trial in the Senate given the partisan vote that occurred in the House. Apparently partisan is "fair" if you have the majority but unfair if you are the minority.

I also find it funny that he is an imminent danger to our country and the fair electoral process yet she is dragging feet with actually getting the process rolling forward. Crap or get off the pot, Nancy.
