John Solomon doesn't write articles. He writes opinion pieces. There's a a reason there's a a giant OPINION label listed before any of his conspiracy theories and rants.
Correct. I could see how someone might conflate the primary declaration with registration if they're not a longtime resident of Alabama, or they haven't changed which party's primary ballot they're going to use on a somewhat regular basis. Don't know if any of that applies here.
I've had to change which party's ballot I use so many times I truly don't even remember which primary I voted in last election. There's always an insane Republican, or crazy Democrat, that I'm trying to push out of office, or prevent from reaching the general election.
I kind of wish Alabama had a jungle primary like Louisiana sometimes, but I could also see how they would allow an insane Republican or Democrat to slip through who could've been stopped at the primary level. I can't tell you how often my voting is about voting AGAINST some loon instead of voting FOR a good candidate. I don't even remember the last candidate I voted for that I was confident about or felt good about. Cam Ward and Ron Sparks are two that I remember, but I'm sure they weren't the last ones I felt good about.
The jungle primary in Louisiana is how we wound up with the infamous Edwin Edwards (vote for the crook was his slogan) versus David Duke for governor in the 1990s. It’s a dangerous game to play.

Exactly. That's my concern. No primary process to stop the loons. That said, it is frustrating that the Alabama Democratic Party is largely toothless and runs horrible candidates, and the AL GOP frequently sees the most extreme or idiotic candidate win the primary and then we're stuck with them. With a Jungle primary there's the chance you get at least one decent Republican. But, I don't know that the benefit outweighs the terrible possibilities like Edwards vs. Duke.
The better option is ranked choice voting, but I don't think Alabama voters would ever be smart enough to demand something like that. Montgomery will trot out a disingenuous dog and pony show about why it's bad, and voters will swallow it hook, line, and sinker. Ranked choice voting is how you end the political career of nutjobs like Roy Moore.
The Washington Post reports on a memorandum summarizing a meeting between Trump and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
Fox News cited a U.S. official who said all three were working off the books apart from the administration, and the only person who knew “what they were doing is President Trump.”

Geez, even Fox News is dropping bombshell reports that shown Giuliani is a liar and trump is acting on his own...
And I guarantee some of my far right friends on FB will be sharing this article on their timelines and celebrating big time among themselves. I've got 2 in mind right now that will probably jump right on this

If they share it seriously, they are typically gullible and blinded by what they want the truth to be. If they share it as a joke, which is what I assumed to be the case here, it’s generally somebody with a pretty good sense of humor about their biases.

Note that both times, he stated "if" they share it "seriously". It happens often, and it has happened here many times. He's right - it does tell you something about the person that posts it. I have no reason to think that you believed it to be real. However, if you did know it was fake, I will say this: I believe posting intentionally false "news" in a non-humor (although often humorous) thread is a bad move.
