There's a reason for the sudden emergence of these types of articles. It is to set the table for defending Trump on Russia.
Remember, we've gone from:
1. There was no interference.
2. If there was interference, it just as easily could've been the Chinese, North Koreans, or a 400lb man on his bed.
3. Ok, there might have been interference, but didn't involve Trump or his campaign, and no one can for sure prove it was Russia.
4. The interference didn't change the outcome of the election. Votes were no changed. This is just Dem hysteria.
5. OK, so the Russian meddling was intense and TRIED to fix the outcome of the election. So what? We didn't collude and meet with them. Go look at Hillary.

There's a reason these "but he fights" or "yes he can be rough around the edges or use rough language" pieces are being pushed. They are a way to slowly chip away at standards and slowly mold people into being OK with things they used to be against. You do it gradually and you use previous heroes and popular patriotic Americans as a comparison.
By the time it comes out that Trump directly colluded with the Russians, Obama will be called a coward for NOT doing so, and Trump supporters will say FDR, Truman, Patton, and Eisenhower colluded with the Russians, and that's why the 50's were so great! And, it will be said Trump had to do it to save Western Civilization from Sharia.
