Severe WX February 16-17th, 2022 Severe Threat

Really looks like this thing is getting ready to produce if it hasn't already. I do think the CC was just noise because we'd have ground reports quickly if it was accurate.

Yeah the CC drop was right in the area of lower returns. Hopefully that was why it looked how it did.

I agree with the NWS. I think it's just noise and if there were a tornado in Tuscaloosa right now, we'd probably be hearing about it by now.

That being said, the cell is very impressive and with no much interfering with it, it'll likely produce a tornado in the short term.

Crazy hard rain with this storm. Heads up for flash flooding danger.

It could be hail but I have not heard any reports of hail with this cell.

Well, there's always the possibility of damage to power/communication infrastructure in the immediate vicinity, so you never know...

Anyway, there looks to be some possible rotation near Locust Frok, AL.

He's on chat with the NWS. They didn't think it was a true TDS.
Yeah, I just went back on RadarScope again and looked at it frame by frame, and it didn't really look like debris CC drop. Guess my eyes saw that blue and just went WOAH.

Hail spike is my guess.

Hope this thing continues its struggle to organize. Seems a lot broader than it was.

Organization of that cell looks a little better the last couple frames again. Gotta be a tough call for KBMX to stick with the SVR or issue a TOR for it.

Right to my west. Just re-issued the TOR almost on top of my head

You can see it tighten up/strengthen some in the last couple frames from KMXX. I like the call to issue a TOR, there may not be one on the ground at the moment, KBMX's presentation suggests it probably isn't on the ground, but with the healthy meso and some strong returns on KBMX, it wouldn't take it tightening up much to drop one.

we’re in the same area. i’m right by the railroad transfer in mccalla.

presentation is still very rough, but it does look a little better.

Yeah I'm not far from there. Coleman Lakes area.

Secondary area of rotation in the storm south of the original rotation.

Edit: it was still briefly light enough outside to see rotation. Very broad.
