Severe WX April 11th-13th, 2020 Severe Weather Threat

Calls to family in Carbon Hill confirms trees down from earlier tornado; will try to go find the damage path tomorrow morning

US Hwy 72 through Paint Rock (between Huntsville and Scottsboro) is under water in all 4 lanes

Looks like Carbon Hill got hit pretty hard. That's about 15 minutes away... feeling pretty fortunate that died out before it got here. Went under the updraft of that cell and all went silent for a moment. Really wanting to see where that damage path went.

I recorded this in downtown Bham just moments after they cancelled the tornado warning for us - the clouds were racing and if you turn it up the thunder is a constant rumble - so glad the tornado lifted!

Several days ago when you were talking about your concern for Walker County, I almost trotted out the "it's been awhile for Carbon Hill" line but thought better of it. What a shame that it got hit again. They just can't win.

Yeah it's a testament to the incredible dynamics and advection with this system that after an all day soaking rain without even a single sign of the sun, and multiple rounds of severe storms, that round four still brought a damaging tornado. I had hoped we were done after that big MCS earlier but knowing the dynamics still kept a super close eye on radar...

Tornado warning near Gunterville now so still possible statewide...

South Alabama a scary time right now...

I guess northwest corner can relax...
