That's the kind of lapse rates were dealing with today.

Massive TDS. Bassfield looks to have taken a direct hit

I saw 141/-142 in the couplet. Not good at all. No doubt this is a powerful tornado with the potential to stay on the ground for awhile considering the atmosphere that is in front of it.

It does look to me the threat is really waning for areas north of US-278 in Alabama. I do not anticipate too many tornado warnings from Huntsville.

Areas along the 20/59 corridor and points south will be impacted by the storms that are just now firing in the nasty environment in southern MS that will move into west central/southwest Alabama. This looks where things are going to phase up the best. IMO.

Confirmed Tornado with the Tuscaloosa/Fayette County storm now:

...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 PM CDT FOR
NORTHWESTERN TUSCALOOSA AND SOUTHERN FAYETTE COUNTIES...

AT 422 PM CDT, A CONFIRMED TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR ASHCRAFT CORNER,
OR 13 MILES NORTHEAST OF GORDO, MOVING NORTHEAST AT 60 MPH.

HAZARD...DAMAGING TORNADO.

SOURCE...RADAR CONFIRMED TORNADO.

Ridiculous debris height on that tornado. That supercell is definitely showing us the potential of the extreme parameters today.

Yikes! That is a strong tornado moving through there! Couple ?'s....Is that 141/-142 KTS on the velocity values that you're referring to?
And what is a TDS?

WOW! That Bassfield storm is amazing.

Those twin supercells will continue NE...trajectory puts it between Meridian and Laurel and then into Western AL. Not much to stop them...
