Talked to my son this evening and he is an anesthesiologist in his first year of practice in Austin TX. He told me he volunteered to work on a critical care team at the hospital in Austin to work with the critical Covid patients there. He will be intubating those who are in life threatening situations with their lungs failing. I am proud of his compassion to volunteer to do this but am concerned about his safety too.

I know KoD is risking his health working with Covid patients and I want to thank him and any others who are putting themselves at risk to try and save others. Ya'll are heroes and may God Bless you all.

Headlines Warning- Don’t believe or repeat headlines without reading the story

On all news outlets liberal conservative mainstream all of the spectrum beware headlines often misleading not even reflecting the facts of the story.
Also fake news. The worst one I’ve seen being that the Ford Health System put out a letter announcing and explaining the rationing of care and how they were deciding who would receive life saving care. They have a letter but no one has received it they haven’t sent it out. “News” story said it was sent out to clients of Ford health systems but it wasn’t and story not retracted or corrected.

Al.con has a headline that people are being evicted in Al during the emergency but the story reads about people that are not being evicted and cites no examples evictions.
Fox News and Newsmax have several headlines that reading the story makes you mad at the misleading headline.

30 more days of social distancing. Could see that coming a mile away.

We had our first two fatalities in Arlington yesterday (both 60+ and with chronic health conditions). 84 total cases as of yesterday.

Alabama moves past the 900 mark. 77 new cases (so far) today. Will go over a 1,000 tomorrow more than likely. I'm surprised the university is still partially open. The library is open 9-3 and a few other buildings are open with limited access. We had a few in but not many. Students were advised to stay off campus but roughly 120 (mostly international students) remained in the residence halls. All intruction is online through the summer term.

Well multiple reports of the model saying that 1700 Alabamians will die by August of the new virus. Based on the level of alert that’s sounds like a relief to me if it’s true.

It appears the initial hot spots are beginning to flatten...its the possible new hot spots that will pick up (potentially).

I’m not convinced anything has flattened. If our testing capacity increases and the plateau remains, then I’ll believe it.

Models!
All over place as far as the range, I guess they’re attempting to go wth a middle line like on plotted possible hurricane tracks, only they have better data to feed hurricane models. IMHO.
