Google DeepMind ensembles have backed off the wind speeds a little bit this morning, but the latest NHC advisory suggests he could make a run at hurricane strength.

It is a tiny thing, which would help any intensification.
 
Perhaps not THAT much though.
This was a small system too; I know it isn’t unusual to see stalling tropical storms or remnants dumping a ton of rain, but it certainly feels like extreme rainfall events from TCs recently have been getting more extreme. Could very easily be recency bias on my part, but I feel like they are absolutely getting worse.

There's an obvious reason, but discussing it seems less effective at teaching folks than just letting it prove it to them. Atmospheric rivers are about to get a LOT worse - TCs not required.
