Severe Weather 2026

Also, quick question. Why isn't anyone making threads for events that warrant it? We've had periods of significant svr at times and this thread is not the place for it. We've had dual D4 slights and nobody mentioned it. These events need threads and I won't be the one starting it after the train wreck that was 6/17. Otherwise, these events are harder to find in case you wanna look back at some of the threads to see the discussion and thoughts.

You can search comments by date, which makes the smaller events easier to find.

I think it’s hard to make threads for events that go surprise. I am not for multiple threads for slight risks with 0-2% tornado risks to cover the slight potential of something significant happening, that’s why we have this thread. Different if a slight risk is mixed in with potential for significant events during a stretch of severe wx.

Yeah. I personally didn't make a thread because none of the days thus far have exceeded a slight risk with 2% tornado contour.

Not that, there's been 5% risks at times that haven't got a thread. Last night was a surprise, which isn't my issue. I've just noticed quite the lack of threads recently.

There was also a dual D4 slight that git issued with no thread tagged on it either.

Jaden Pappenheim is outrageously throwing a huge tantrum because he got called out on unnecessary sensationalism chaser slang when reporting a nighttime birdfart tor tonight. The egos and attitudes of some of these chasers is ridiculous.

It's hilarious.

I kinda get it cause the season has been absolute hell for chasing but man that thing was not a grinder. In fact, given what I've seen from even the more intense couplets, I don't think anything yesterday was really all that impressive.

Nah, it's just straight out him being unable to take criticism. He's told two chasers that they're likely envious including Andrew (By the way, Andrew was on June 11th and got some of the best footage by far that day) could also be personal stuff we don't know about, of course but there's no need to explode over getting called out

Describe a tornado as it is with a detailed report instead of using sensationalism and adrenaline-filled words. Guy can't take that and chooses to call him envious for missing what was honestly a piss poor chasing day.

I'm sure if Timmer said the same thing, it would be the exact opposite outcome.
