With the super Nino the cool fall severe season will enhance the risk coming up . Could get interesting

What happens over there is a entirely different jet stream. That doesn't account at all for America.

Disclaimer: We've had big Dec outbreaks in Neutrals ('19 and 24) and Ninas ('00, 10 and especially '21), but you get the idea what we might face as we close '26 out.

CAM forecast soundings look great across the upper Midwest for Sunday evening if we could only get a discrete storm. 0Z HRRR suggests a few in northern Illinois but it's at the tail end of its range.

Would think potential for a couple tornadoes in N IL Sunday night as upscale growth induces a QLCS. Very strong low level shear will accompany the QLCS. a isolated tornado will be possible in the initially more cellular mode. A thing I've developed recently is stretch and nudge. It's basically just environments where you have low level stretching AND a bit of nudging required. 360+ 0-1km SRH are at play with this one after dark, thankfully no prefrontal threat to take care of that but QLCS tornadoes could still be pretty hefty. Will continue to monitor

Spann was the one who referred to the pattern of Dec. 2015 leading to the severe weather late that month as the "El Nino blowtorch," so we shall see.

possible unwarn tornado happening in New Brunswick Canada.
there was a nice supercell to its north earlier that had a tight area of rotation but no sign of a cc drop.

Canada's radar thend to go blank when the rotation is strong , might of been a short live one , storm is warn for strong winds already.
rotation has weaken now and the cc is gone now.
