40 years ago, a helicopter captured video of a tornado experiencing vortex breakdown near Fridley, MN. This was the best VB footage ever until Andover 2022.

I’m glad that tornado wasn’t more serious than it turned out to be as it hit during rush hour.

While not a tornado or hurricane, today is the 50th Anniversary of the tragic Flash Flood at Big Thompson Canyon in Colorado.

Today marks the 1 year anniversary of the September 14th, 2025 tornado outbreak. Throughout the afternoon and evening, 20 tornadoes were observed as low topped supercells moved northward across central North Dakota.
