Tropical Depression Tropical Depression Gordon (Gulf of Mexico)

Gordon is much larger in size on satellite today than yesterday, and has done a very good job of maintaining persistent, and deep convection near the center.

Gordon is getting tugged more north and east due to the mid level circulation and deeper convection present on the north and east quadrants. This will probably come in east of the current forecast point.

Flooding at Dolphin Island. Totally expected that. Nobody seems to be overly concerned about Gordon.

Someone is gonna get dumped on in SW Alabama. Models honing in on a feeder band going stationary oriented north/south. Don't be surprised to get some squalls tomorrow across Western and Central parts of the state too.

Looks like we have a landfall just west of the AL/MS border, lots of rain lined up for the West FL panhandle and South West AL, southern MS

Nice soaking rain this morning across West Alabama. Watch some of these training bands later today...could continue to pose flooding issues were already seeing.

Also, people see "tropical storm" and brush it off. Check this out:

Now, given some of the wind reports, the NHC might retroactively go back and declare this a minimal category 1. But still, the point stands. Tropical storms can pack a punch too...
