Are forecasts still confident Melissa will go nowhere near the eastern Gulf even if she pumps the ridge?
Yes. This is not getting in the Gulf. This current frontal system moving through tonight/tomorrow will keep that from happening

It's gonna to start going supersonic in a few hours.
I don't see any reason, except for some unknown variable, why Melissa should not be at or nearing Category 5 first thing tomorrow morning.
