Severe Weather Threat - October 18th/19th 2025

The game in Tuscaloosa is over. It looks like there is still time for those traveling back to north Alabama to get home before the line gets to I-65.

I’m actually at home. I was thinking of those who may have traveled from Huntsville. I hear the fast food joints on I-65 at Gardendale/Fultondale north of Birmingham can get quite backed up after Bama games.
Well, I was hoping to go on to bed after this current line pushed through, but I see we have another line behind it. Really had not anticipated two squall lines with this. Ugh

Here is another concern for later tonight, all those people at Talledega Speedway sleeping in their RVs with possible straight line winds.

The northern end of the line is turning into a blob of heavy rain. That will be good to ease some of this drought.

POST MORTEM:
Surprisingly, this event did a bit more then i was expecting. We had a surprise, potentially significant bookend vortex tornado in Central AR.
We had brief mesocyclones in Missouri shed off some sort of boundary and one tornado touched down from this.
This is more 50/50, but twin LP tornadoes in Indiana with their TDS likely influenced by leaves. I'm still not sure if these were genuine but the radar data suggests strongly. I was glad to see this one as it occurred!
The Tallulah tornado from that discrete cell that got choked off. Could've been briefly strong but haven't seen any damage just yet.
The Yazoo City tornado that hit and i think was the last of the night.
In all, this event had plenty of variety in the tornadic part, and i hope those affected by a tornado yesterday recover quick!

Tornado Rips Through Southwest Arkansas
Three tornadoes were reported across the South on Saturday evening as severe weather moved through the region. Drone footage from Hot Spring County in Arkansas shows uprooted trees and at least one home damaged by falling limbs.
A squall line?! Well that’s fun!
I’ve been getting wind throughout the day so far, with intermediate wind gusts.
