Worth mentioning that there is a MCD regarding that mesolow feature.
Mesoscale Discussion 0114
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
1231 PM CST Sun Jan 22 2017
Areas affected...Portions of east-central AL and west-central GA
Concerning...Tornado Watch 21...
Valid 221831Z - 221930Z
The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 21 continues.
SUMMARY...A cluster of intense storms will spread across portions of
east-central AL into west-central GA through mid-afternoon.
DISCUSSION...A cluster of thunderstorms spreading eastward and
northeastward across portions of central AL is exhibiting forward
motion around 35-45 kt, with linear extrapolation suggesting its
leading edge crossing into GA around 2030-2200Z. This activity is
evolving within a region of strong deep ascent associated with the
left-exit region of a midlevel speed maximum. While this activity
lies to the north of the most unstable air presently confined to
southern AL/GA, the 18Z Birmingham sounding indicates sufficient
buoyancy amidst around 60-70 kt of deep shear for a continued severe
risk with this activity. Damaging winds and tornadoes will be
possible, especially owing to rapid intensification of the surface
low in proximity to the area.
