I can't seem to find a thread about auroras, so I am making a thread for them. I also would like to post my aurora photos from the rare May 2024 aurora outbreak (We got auroras in Virginia)

Photo #5 is the NOAA aurora 30-min forecast site. That image shows just how strong the northern lights were at the time I was taking these photos almost a year ago now.

Photo #6 is what I would like to call a "wisp". It was swooshing lights that were short-lived but I managed to capture one of them.

I saw more northern lights briefly again at my latitude in October 2024, but I didn't get photos of those, @Kds86z (37N in VA)

Beautiful!

The October 2024 northern lights weren't as strong as the May ones, but they were there none the less.

Something I forgot to say:

I enhanced my phones camera settings to bring out the Auroras as much as possible. They did not look like that IRL most of the time.
