Northern Lights Thread

Yeah it’s worth a shot and was able to pick it up last year with a iPhone camera I know minus the wildfire smoke but still have faith in it even with the wildfire smoke
I used my IPhone camera and tried to bring out the auroras as mush as possible.

The phone I have now is the very same one that took those photos in the OG post a year ago.

If you want the day I took them, it was May 10, 2024.

My view about 5 minutes ago. (No auroras yet)

Seems to me on the 30-minute NOAA forecast that the lights have weakened a bit. But that likely doesn’t mean anything and it will probably just pick back up overnight tonight.

Yeah I also have this app Aurora https://apps.apple.com/app/id1073082439 and have it set to kp of 4 and just now received a notification of it picking up saw someone post about it on wxtwitter but unfortunately it says I have a 0 percent chance of seeing it but could be a sign with it picking up its at 4.67

How far north (*N) or south (*S) do you live?

I am at 37N, so it is rare for my area to see them.

Apparently upon looking it up I’m 35.28 degrees above the horizon if that’s is what you meant
I am at 37.23 N, I mean latitude north or south of the equator.

I assume you are saying 35.28 degrees north of the equator?
