The fifty six-Larkin EF4 prelim track is added to the DAT.
Intresting to note that an observation platform recorded winds consistent with the damage found.

And speaking of the Larkin tornado.....Do we have any photos/video of the tornado itself? I haven't found any yet and I've been looking for quite a bit. Looks like it was overshadowed in-situ by the MO storms, which is a shame.

Utterly, just awful. I hope these people find peace one day.

Some of the damage near that demolished home in Bakersfield is pretty darn impressive. Low lying vegetation shredded and several vehicles tossed and mangled.

Looks like this picture of Greenfield, Iowa 2024 damage is making the rounds as Diaz, Arkansas damage. Even Ryan Hall used it in his most recent video.

Think we need to chill with the "so this won't get X rating" stuff, I believe most of these offices are going to be surveying for several more days given the magnitude of this event. If it is unchanged once it's done, then it'll be a question mark.

There were a lot of things on the foundation that should have been destroyed more easier than the hamper and are still intact. Why specifically the hamper!!!

1.) It’s literally just a twitter user making a joke.

2.) That house looks like a subfloor slider, and those are usually rated EF3 anyway.

There’s really nothing to get upset about.

Eyebrows are always going to be raised when a DI is posted where the rating seemingly contradicts what can be seen in the photograph, or in this case what is in the comments as well. Talking about it here isn't influencing anything and even if it was the correct solution is for WFOs to not release something that looks questionable without clearer explanation in the first place. At most people will get to look silly about their earlier postings.

I do agree with you on the EF3 rating as you said but wouldn't it be closer to mid or high-end EF3?

Given the contextual damage including mangled vehicles and shredded vegetation, low-end EF3 doesn’t really sit well with me, I’ll tell you that much.

NWS Springfield tends to be a bit too conservative with their surveys.

Shredded vegetation and vehicles mangled beyond recognition tend to mostly be ignored by many NWS offices.
