Severe WX Severe Weather Threat 3/14-3/16

Interested to see what will come of the severe threat this far north in Chicago area and how short term CAMs look in the morning. Regardless it will be extremely windy with gusts up to 60mph.

I also wanted to say that it is definitely a difficult balance of interest in a hobby and the real people that are affected by these events. Prayers for people's safety and overall that everyone would do their best to be mindful of those that are being affected by this through what we share here.

In this scenario, I really think any talk of ratings during the event should be ignored/not discussed. The tornadoes that do form will be dangerous and life-threatening and the WFOs that have to survey them could possibly be understaffed and underfunded so they could have a difficult time with warnings, let alone accurately rating the damage afterward.

Edit: The Enhanced Fujita Scale Debate thread could be a good place.

I just got back to this thread after a while of not seeing. Seems like the overall mood has become something very alarming. I really, really expected this to downtrend at some point. I still don’t believe it will perform on par with 4/27/2011 (although, I can see it actually occurring at this point). The fact that something comparable to that awful event is even on the table is abhorrent. Praying for everyone both in the thread and in general who lie in the path of these storms.
