Severe WX Severe Weather Threat 3/14-3/16

Soundings as of now definitely have the potential to warrant something close to this or another Mayfield. Really hope this downtrends because this is looking pretty mean for Dixie.

Very, very high ceiling on Friday on those 12z Euro/UK runs. As in potential higher end outbreak.
How does the Saturday ceiling look to you? I know the focus is AL/MS… Do you think the morning convection may throw a fly in the ointment? Do you feel like TN is in play on Saturday or do you think it will be confined to AL/MS?

Hard to say for sure at this stage. With strong capping, but also strong forcing, and a decent westerly (perpendicular to the initiating boundary) component to the mid/upper-level winds, we could see a couple of discrete supercells up this way (obviously preferred from a chasing standpoint).
p much more discretes than what we thought was gonna occur with our past events of recent

Would you rather it come on a Saturday in the spring than say a Saturday in November when a large portion of the state is more focused on a football game?

I don’t know if the state of Alabama now cares about college basketball since both Alabama and Auburn’s men’s teams are doing great but I think the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament is next weekend. At least those games will be on SEC Network and won’t be subject to wall to wall coverage.

Won't know for certain until Friday works out. There is potential for something significant on Saturday if the secondary wave evolves correctly, morning convection definitely will be a factor.

Still nearly a week out until Pi Day, the Ides of March, and St. Patty's Eve and there is already a lot of discussion about the next severe weather event. Too bad I live in a part of the country where the weather is boring most of the time.
That is a good thing (for you). You don’t want to be out here this weekend :)
