Looks like quite the 850mb warm nose there; that might be what's keeping the storm to the west in check.

FWD is also very impressive.
The thing already had a spin-up with a CC drop within the inflow which is very, very impressive.Somehow (and luckily), the KS storm has yet to consolidate, but it does look like there's some areas of rotation around the main one, still. I think this storm has bad news written on it. Hopefully it never produces.
