Things may start to get interesting after Dec 10. Looks like there's potential in the long range to get a big western ridge with some blocking which would let the cold air pour into the SE. Hope this confirms and then we get some upper level energy to form and ride through the cold air.

I'm pretty danged excited for this upcoming pattern. Looks ripe for NW Flow up this way and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the western half of NC cash in.

Im also excited about the upcoming pattern... Its great that we finally have something to track/follow! I think I was misunderstood in the November thread by wishing for something to track... By know means would I wish for severe weather that would damage folks property or even take life's.... I just want some cold air and a little snow for the south east....

Pattern still looks fantastic moving into Wednesday and beyond. The 0z GFS is a thing of pure beauty but then again it's the GFS.
Looking like the NC mountains (MBY) are going to do really well the last half of next week into the weekend. Hoping for a couple inches here from clippers/NWF.

We're slipping back into drought conditions across the Deep South thanks to this dry Northwest flow. Next week's rain chance should add about 1-2" to some areas, but things are running about 3-4" below normal since Hurricane Nate.

Thats not good! I'm on a well here at my house with no option for county water so drought conditions make me nervous.

NWFS- Northwest Flow Snow. Basically the mountains squeezing every available drop of moisture out of the air with strong, cold NW winds.

And I'm up just outside Boone at a comfy 3300ft.

A few flakes in Ga may be possible Friday according to GFS

Still a chance of snow in a couple of shots Thurs - Sat morning. Thoughts?

Maybe some light snow showers that might produce a dusting... but nothing significant. What do you think?

Wow apocalyptic, that graphic is intense. I hope we don't see a lot around here. I'm on call this week!

The NAM has nearly a FOOT of snow down along the AL/FL border and jack diddly squat anywhere north of Montgomery.. while the GFS doesn't even have said low existing and this is 84 hours out.

Gem has a strip of a foot of snow across the whole SE. UK is much wetter than the gfs.

This may be the worst consistency I've ever seen so close. This is awful.

I'm so confused. One local Met stating that the models have just about gotten rid of any chance of anything at all in Georgia ....yet another local stating the swath through ATL is up to 1/2" or so.

Some saying GFS is too glitchy as of late to put any trust into.

What the heck gives ... lol
