Hurricane force wind speeds may expand wide enough to engulf all of Puerto Rico

Hoping that curve holds for the Carolinas sake. Hoping PR survives the night.

Both Doppler radars on Puerto Rico are down. Satellite only for Maria right now.

Dam failures are an insane thing to witness. I've only seen a few on video and they remind me of the Japan tsunami of 2011.

the UKMET/GFS/CMC all pass close enough to the Outer Banks for some significant impacts mid-week

The UKMET is closest and misses Hatteras by less than 30 miles

I remember the GFS showing this early last week, but I haven't kept up to know if it was consistent.

The models at one point had Jose leaving a path for Maria to stay safely east but Jose has trended weaker and therefore Maria gets closer now before the trough kicks it OTS

so its likely it will stall either over or probably just east of the OBX Wednesday(as of now), then go out to sea

One last tweet showing the loss of power across PR.

Other hazards from Maria apparently include WWII mines!
