PHEW! My neck of the woods (Tallahassee) got such a surprise today with the FL Big Bend / South GA outbreak -- I showed that some of the models (particuarly the NAM) picked up on this possibility, but the HRRR and SPC definitely didn't. One of the bigger fails in recent history missing an event, I think.

EDIT: For what it's worth, it was a very sneaky setup, and one that may well be studied for a long time to come.

Not nearly as exciting as tornadoes, but we got a lot of hail in central Florida…and I didn’t even have to leave my house to chase it!
