PHEW! My neck of the woods (Tallahassee) got such a surprise today with the FL Big Bend / South GA outbreak -- I showed that some of the models (particuarly the NAM) picked up on this possibility, but the HRRR and SPC definitely didn't. One of the bigger fails in recent history missing an event, I think.

EDIT: For what it's worth, it was a very sneaky setup, and one that may well be studied for a long time to come.

In the meantime, a lot of people who rely on the Farmer's Almanac are gonna be highly disappointed next weekend. You would not believe the amount of people that have ask me about this. I'm like I don't go by a book.
